Rad rooms from the 70’s

I recently found this fantastic book at Half Price Books. I really don’t understand why more houses don’t look like this. This is giving me ideas for my unfinished basement. Here are the highlights:

Kory is one lucky kid.

At first glance I think, who in the hell would put their kid in this death trap, but then I remember that my kid didn’t sleep through the night until she was one. I would have totally tried this if it had been an option.

The wood paneling and shag carpet only enhance these closet doors.

I thought sunken living rooms were cool, but this takes it to a whole other level.

I would totally risk life and limb to slide down this slope.

Love it.

Love it more!

So this Sharon Owen Haven lady (who designed the previous 2 rooms) is either a genius or on drugs or both. I googled her but only found this one book she wrote. It’s definitely going on my wish list.

First let me say I am a crazy over Sunset books. I can't pass one up.
    I don't have that one, but it's a winner.

Second; My son didn't sleep through the night for much longer than I care to remember. If that swinging crib were an option, I would have snagged it.
