Old games

During my Christmas vacation, I took a big walk down memory lane. Chris and I didn’t go anywhere during our time off, so we got to spend a lot of time with our two nephews. Now, believe it or not, they were running a bit on stimulation overload right after the holidays from playing with all of their new toys, watching new DVDs, and playing games on the “innornet”, and I decided maybe they needed to drop it down a notch and learn to have some fun old-school-style: board games!! Mom (being the pack rat she is) still had a majority of our old games, so I immediately made her dig every single one of them out. And it was glorious fun! Here is a smattering of what we found:

I’m not sure what was more fun – playing with games I hadn’t seen in 20 years or appreciating all of the retro graphics and illustrations. And in the process, I uncovered ground zero of my artistic influences. And for the record, I have no idea how to play Parcheesi. I only included it because the game board is so cute. More gaming treasures to follow…

What a walk down memory lane – I remember playing some of those games at your house, and we had the same ones at our house too. The Parcheesi board is fantastic.
