Cool Christmas presents (part 2 of 2)

Mmmm… I’ve got several hours of retro-y goodness in my future! My first stop will be in Swingtown, my favorite show from this past summer that I’m pretty sure got cancelled after one season. I think Chris Browning even signed some petition to save the show for me, but I’m pretty sure it got canned anyway. But oh, what a wonderful summer it was. I’ll give you one guess as to what the show was about. Oh wait – I just checked cbs.com, and it looks like it may not be completely over. Anyway, to make a long story short, it’s set back in 1976, they play tons of great music, the Decker’s house is amazing, and I totally have a girl crush on Lana Parilla. (Thanks for the money I bought this with, Mom!)

Next on my trip will be Sesame Street, Vol. 1 (1969-1974). I got Vol. 2 for Christmas last year, so I had to complete the pair. My absolute earliest memories of childhood are definitely of this show. I hope to pass this on to my (someday) kids as well. (Thanks for the Borders giftcard, Barb!)

And finally I will end my journey at The Best of The Electric Company. I don’t have as many memories of this show. I’m guessing that’s because by the time it aired right after Sesame Street, my poor little tiny 4-year-old attention span had hit its limit. Let’s hope my poor little 31-year-old attention span can handle it a bit better the second time around. I’ve only watched about 5 minutes of it so far, and I love it already. (Thanks Bonnie!)
